What does the SlashImage column show?
1 min read · Last updated June 2026
The SlashImage column appears in your Media Library in list view and shows where each image is in optimization.
Status labels
During normal operation you will see one of these:
Reduced by X%- the image was optimized; that is how much smaller it got. Click View details for a per-size breakdown.Already optimal- the image was already as small as it sensibly gets.- Optimize button - the image has not been optimized yet. Click it to queue that one image.
Optimizing…- the image is queued or being processed now.Excluded(orExcluded (matches: <pattern>)) - SlashImage is skipping this image. When a pattern is shown, that is the exclusion rule it matched. See How do I stop specific images from being optimized?.Format not supported- the file type (SVG, PDF, BMP, and so on) is not one SlashImage processes.
When something needs attention
If the column shows Stalled - retry?, Paused - reconnect your API key, Error, or Not optimized, those states have fixes:
- For the paused/key state, see How do I fix an invalid or revoked API key?.
- For everything else, see Why did an image fail to optimize?.
Filter by status
Above the list, a status dropdown lets you narrow the view. Its options are All SlashImage statuses, Optimized, Queued, Processing, Excluded, Not optimized, Optimization error, and Not processable.
