These terms govern your use of SlashImage ("SlashImage", "we", "us"), our image optimization API, WordPress plugin, dashboard, and free tools. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
The service
SlashImage optimizes images (reducing file size while preserving quality, and generating modern formats like WebP and AVIF) through our API, WordPress plugin, dashboard, and free in-browser compressor.
Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your password and API keys secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account or keys have been compromised.
Plans, billing, and renewals
We offer a free plan and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; cancellation stops future renewals, and your plan stays active until the end of the current period.
Our free in-browser compressor includes daily usage limits (currently 10 images per day without an account, 100 per day on a free account, and unlimited on paid plans). These limits may change.
Refunds
If you're not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 7 days of a charge, no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful content or purposes,
- attempt to bypass usage limits, abuse the free tool, or resell access in a way your plan doesn't permit,
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service, or
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code, except where the law expressly permits.
Your images and content
You keep all rights to the images you optimize. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your images in order to provide the service. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not store your images. They are discarded as soon as they're processed.
Our intellectual property
SlashImage, including our software, branding, and content, belongs to us. These terms don't give you any ownership of it beyond the right to use the service as intended.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that optimization results will meet every expectation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlashImage will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can stop using the service and close your account at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date and, for significant changes, let you know. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States [and the State of ___, set once the business is registered].
